Following points should be noted from this picture
- Increase in female population. This could be attributed to the ethnic conflict we having for more than 25 year and death of young people specially men due 2 JVP led insurgencies in early 1970s and late 1980s.
- Sri lanka is economically depending on 2 of the most populous giants of world. Namely China and India. In future we will have to manage relationship with these competing giants very carefully because antagonizing either one will have serious consequences economically as militarily.

Well well , Increasing female population !! well what my male mind first said was "more demand : Less supply" - men would be in high demand !!!
However if we analyze this demographically this would have serious after effects. Specially when we consider social institutions like marriage and family.
I wonder whether Sri Lankan policy makers have time and right mind set to focus on such problems.
It's interesting to see what's the situation of a country like Iraq which is constantly under war for several effects. However we might have a bigger impact because we are facing a long civil war.
This falls under the social impact of war - a topic less spoken by war. In addition one day this could also have an impact on work force and economy of Sri Lanka as well.
